Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Additionally, Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Accountant work is closely managed.   • Grand Island Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, performing financial reconciliations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. You will report directly to the Administrator and work collaboratively with the leadership team to ensure compliance with accounting standards, support budgeting efforts and strategic decision-making.

    Responsibilities:

    Bookkeeping:

    • Perform all bookkeeping tasks, maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
    • Record all financial transactions, including purchases, expenses, deposits, sales, payroll, and receipts.
    • Ensure proper coding and classification of transactions.
    • Review payroll information to ensure accurate recording and compliance.

    Accounts Payable:

    • Manage the entire accounts payable process.
    • Timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
    • Prepare and process payments to vendors.
    • Establishes and maintains process to track purchase and receipt of inventory.

    Financial Reconciliations:

    • Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain a clear financial picture.
    • Reconcile bank deposits, entries with the payments processed by billing department.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues promptly.
    • Establishes or improves upon controls needed to monitor and regulate financial transactions.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
    • Generate various financial reports to support leadership decision-making.
    • Provide insights and analysis on financial performance.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and monitor budgets.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts.

    Compliance:

    • Sales and use tax review for purchases that did not have sales tax charged.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Assist in the preparation for audits and work with auditors as needed.

    Ad Hoc Financial Projects:

    • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Administrator.
    • Provide financial information for decision-making purposes.

    Miscellaneous

    • Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
    • Ability to perform in a “small to medium size” company environment described as no task is too insignificant that it would be “beneath” the employee to execute on it; conversely, no task is too big to prevent the employee from rising to the occasion and executing.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

    Experience:

    • Proven experience as an accountant or book keeper, preferably in a similar role.
    • Experience or proficiency with QuickBooks.

    Skills:

    Excellent computer skills including typing and data entry, necessary to perform the duties required for this job.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
