Account Services Representative Job Summary:
The Account Services Representative will evaluate and extend credit while collecting the Accounts Receivable in a responsible manner. Credit will be extended to support sales activities whenever prudent while considering sales relationships from all departments and the risk presented by the customer.
Account Services Representative Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Evaluates creditworthiness of potential customers in a timely manner through investigation using credit applications, references, credit reporting agencies, etc.
2. Set up credit accounts in company computer system with appropriate credit limits.
3. Maintains credit and collection files on computer systems.
4. Monitor, restrict and/or withdraw credit privileges of customer accounts based on dollar limits and payment performance.
5. Collects all past due balances by telephone, mail, e-mail, in person and in legal environments.
6. Reconciles accounts and promptly responds to customer requests for information.
7. Informs Corporate Credit Manager of necessity of additional collection efforts that may include third party or legal assignment.
8. Maintains aging’s at target levels.
9. Provides status reports to other managers as needed.
10. Makes suggestions and investigates viability of system and process enhancements.
11. Prepares customer statements for delivery.
12. Responds confidentially to external credit requests.
13. Other duties as assigned that benefit the Kenworth Sales Company organization or its efforts.
Account Services Representative Qualifications:
This position requires strong communication, analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills. Must have ability to use and understand multiple types of computer programs. Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information. High school diploma or the equivalent. Experience in credit, collection, accounting or related field. Working knowledge of Excel and other accounting programs, excellent communication, supervisory and managerial skills. Must have a Professional personal appearance. Punctual and maintain attendance standards.
