What You Will Do:
- Observe Residents for change in condition and report any changes immediately to supervisor and/or the Department Director. Provide timely interventions to change of condition and share this with staff and family as indicated.
- Perform restorative nursing techniques including proper positioning, ADL training, and Range of Motion. Assist in providing appropriate information and behavioral prompts, cues, redirection, and affirming support to Residents in need. Support hydration programs and good dining experience and dietary intake.
- Assist Residents with mobility, transfers and ambulation as directed, using proper body mechanics, back supports, mechanical devices as required and prompts and cues as indicated.
- Support fall prevention programs for all Residents in need. This includes proactive intervention use, monitoring, safety in the rooms and rounds. Respond to urgent calls as needed.
- Assists with the preparation, implementation and continuing evaluation of the residents in Independent Living. Acts as a contact point for those residents and their families.
- Promotes and participates in the education of staff, associate, and Residents.
- Assist the Director in planning, organizing, and supervising the Department around the clock in order to ensure quality of daily living for residents.
- Participate in all staff activities designed to develop teamwork, unity and promote morale.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Why You are Qualified:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- At least 2 years of related experience, preferably in a senior living or equivalent industry.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
- On Call for staffing needs.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Ability to read and write, follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively in English. Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion towards the elderly. Ability to perform duties with consideration for residents’ rights at all times and demonstrate integrity and confidentiality in the care of residents and in handling their health information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, medical supplies and equipment. Ability to perform basic adult CPR and basic adult first aid procedures.
