Account Executive - Advertising maintains relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential advertising accounts. Targets potential advertising clients and develops relationships in order to acquire new advertising accounts. Being an Account Executive - Advertising may be responsible for selling ad programs in digital formats including banners/buttons, rich media, and interactive ad products. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Account Executive - Advertising typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The ideal candidate has a successful track record of selling print and digital media advertising to retail clients, has strong written and oral communication skills, is highly organized and is passionate about marketing and customer service. A good attitude and patience in building and maintaining a clientele is crucial. Those with experience selling other products and services to local businesses may apply.

    Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Perform outbound sales prospecting activities directed at customers and targets, to identify, generate and develop leads and pipeline, consistently achieving assigned monthly goals.
    • Forecast and monitor progress of sales projections.
    • Use social media and other tools to capture prospect profiles that will support meaningful conversations.
    • Contact via phone/email/chat and learn more about initiatives and challenges.
    • Deliver business impact/ROI-based messaging to prospects and customers.
    • Qualify, develop, nurture, rank and hand off leads as appropriate.
    • Collaborate with sales colleagues to build lead/sales pipeline.
    • Produce lead activity and pipeline reports as required.
    • Continuously learn about New SV Media newspapers and web site success stories and business ecosystem to share with prospects and customers.
    • Complete RFPs and proposals.
    • Assist with development of sales strategies and collateral.
    • Collect and/or update leads, prospects and customer information in CRM system.


    Requirements:


    • B.A./B.S. or equivalent work experience.
    • One to four years in inside sales, sales development and lead qualification in a B2B environment.
    • Experience communicating and interacting with senior management.
    • Demonstrated track record at maintaining a consistent activity/conversation volume and achieving measurable goals, quota and quantifiable results.
    • Strong attention to detail and organization.
    • Web savviness with a high degree of proficiency using standard business productivity tools (email, vmail, MS Office Suite, Mac).
    • Territory management experience.
    • Self-motivated, energetic, upbeat, tenacious team player with excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
    • Excellent phone skills and persona.
    • Outstanding relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity.
    • Excellent time management skills and high degree of organization a must.
    • Prefer experience in online and/or local weekly newspapers sales.
    • Prefer prior sales experience with local/national advertising contacts.
