Academic Support Coordinator assesses students' academic needs and proficiency, assists them in setting goals, connects them to appropriate resources, and provides ongoing support as needed. Coordinates with faculty advisors and staff to provide and support innovative programs that help students succeed. Being an Academic Support Coordinator coordinates tutoring for any students needing remedial instruction or English as a Second Language assistance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Academic Support Coordinator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Academic Support Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Anticipated Academic Support Coordinator

     

    The Attleboro Public School District is seeking an individual who possesses curricular and instructional leadership skills that will actualize the vision and mission of the district, preparing students for college, career and the community. 

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Massachusetts certification in subject specialty with masters degree

    Director/Supervisor Certification within 5 years of employment

    Minimum five (5) years of teaching experience 

    Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience

    Experience with federal funds grant management

    Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills

     

    DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 

     

    Title I and English Learner Program

    • Provides oversight for implementation of the district’s Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) grant and manages the development of comprehensive program plans 
    • Provide direct supervision and evaluation of the Title I and English Learner (EL) Program
    • Attends state, federal and CACE meetings, workshops and conferences in relation to Title I and English Learner services and planning
    • Guide all Title I  and English Learner staff to provide quality, effective supplemental instruction 
    • Plan and implement Title I Parent Involvement and English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC) activities
    • Communicate with Title I and English Learner families regarding program information and surveys
    • Collaborate with building principals to complete the evaluation process for Title I  and English Learner services
    • Coordinates the involvement of non-public school in Title I
    • Plan, coordinate, operate, and evaluate Title I and English Learner funded before/after school and summer program
    • Prepare, submit, and coordinate annual grant, budget, and amendments for all Title grants
    • Prepare, maintain and submit all required federal and state reports, records, evaluations comply with state/local regulations

     

     Academic Support and Grant Coordination

    • Make recommendations for acquisition of supplementary teaching materials
    • Work as part of the District Center for Instruction (DCI) to provide quality curriculum programs for all students
    • Monitor test results, attend data meetings, and provide assistance to improve student performance
    • Coordinates a comprehensive offering of tutoring, supplemental instruction, course recovery sessions, and other academic support options for students, representing a diverse array of learning styles
    • Establish effective communication with DESE and other related agencies
    • Seek out and assist in writing appropriate grants
    • Oversee development of Title I, Title IIA, Title III, Title IV and other state, federal, and private foundation grants and programs to ensure compliance and coordination with other fund sources
    • Work closely with business offices throughout the year in preparing budgets and monitoring expenditures
